The SUPER BOWL. It’s still hitting me that I was even AT the Super Bowl.

The week of the game I had a few of the other wives and girlfriends over for some wine since the guys left for Minnesota the Sunday before the Super Bowl. We all discussed the stressful few days that we ALL just had the few days prior.

Behind the Scenes

The players in the Super Bowl get 15 tickets total for the biggest game of their lives, and they have to pay for all of them except two. For those of you that have experienced this, you know that people start popping out of the woodwork expecting a ticket. Let me be clear about something, these tickets are not cheap. I won’t go into too much detail about that, but there are a ton of other expenses such as flights and hotels. Thankfully, there is a chartered flight for two family members and then players can opt to buy two extra seats and buy them from other players that are not using their seats. This is the same for the hotel room, there is one free room and then the option to buy an extra.

For the players with large immediate families – this creates a lot of issues. EVERYONE wants to go, but not everyone wants to pay. It all ended up working out just fine, but those two days were extremely rough watching him struggle to find the words to deny his close friends and family 0f watching him play in the biggest game in the world. I hope this information will be helpful for those that find themselves in that situation in the future! I had so many questions about logistics of the super bowl and the information is thrown at you like rapid fire about a week prior to the game.

The wives and girlfriends were chartered out to Minnesota on Friday morning. We were then bused over to the hotel that was connected to the Mall of America. The Patriots were also in the Mall of America but were on the opposite end. The weekend flew by and it all happened so dang fast.

Taking It All in

I was doing my best to enjoy the moment instead of taking a lot of pictures like I typically do. I really don’t know if I will ever get to attend the super bowl again (God willing, I will) but I didn’t want to miss a thing. The only pictures I have are from after the game when Rick was crying after they won. And I didn’t even take them! Photographers captured our moment and I am so thankful! They are by far my favorite pictures of Rick and I to date. To watch the person you love have their dreams come true is truly the most indescribable feeling. It was something I will replay in my mind forever!

I hope you all get to experience something similar with the person you love!

And yes, Justin Timberlake was incredible live!

Make it a great day!
