Happy happy day everyone! I hope your week is off to a grand start.

The topics I’ve been writing about recently have been going over really well with you all and I thought I’d continue the trend. Thank you for the support and messages I’ve received on Instagram and through email. I love connecting with you guys and it makes this blog’s purpose come to life.

Something that I just have not been able to grasp is the notion that not everyone is going to like me. I just have not been able to wrap my mind around it! I feel like I am nice and funny and like-able, right? I guess not.

I really admire the people that have a care free mentality and really just pay no attention to what people think.

Hi, I’m a Millennial!

I also believe that Instagram does not help my case one bit. I know, so millennial of me.

When I first started blogging I cared so much about fitting in to the “blogger community.” I tried to take my pictures for Instagram the same as everyone else and conformed to the topics everyone else was writing about. I would post on Instagram and write about what exactly? You guessed it, products and clothes. Not my finest moment.

I noticed my self confidence take a HUGE dip whenever I would post on Instagram or on my blog when it concerned those topics. I would also compare my following to other bloggers or influencers and think I wasn’t good enough.

I took some time and evaluated what I actually cared about and what I wanted to put out into the world.

Social Media Mission

My core mission for my social media is to try not to post about lots of products or clothes that I want people to buy. The world doesn’t need more stuff. I don’t need more “stuff.” The world needs to see love. The world needs to see happiness. The world needs to see struggle. The world needs to see people post about REAL topics. What will influencers have when this era is over? Maybe lots of money. Maybe lots of followers. Maybe nothing.

My point is, that “likes” and “follows” are not our identity. The do not define our worth. And if they do..then good for you. I am very happy for your happiness, honestly. I am not taking anything away from my friends that have large followings as bloggers. Their hard work is so impressive and they deserve success. I am just saying that road is not for me.

No Judgement Zone

People may not like you for their own reasons. People may not “follow” you for their own reasons. The only thing that does matter is what you think of your self and your relationship with the Lord. OR if you don’t believe in that sort of thing, then your relationship with whomever you do believe in. I don’t judge. Just like Planet Fitness.

I wanted to share this note with you all because I want to vow to keep this blog as a place to discuss topics that will either help you, or help you feel good about yourself. If I do post about a product or about fashion I can promise it will be because it falls under those topics and will be attainable to you.

You may not like me and be reading this. Hello, hater! But this is for you too. I hope this helps you make it a great day.

XO,

JB
